Creativity takes bravery.
Here’s a nice reminder from Jon Acuff…
Designer and author George Lois once said “You can be cautious or you can be creative, but there’s no such thing as a cautious creative.” Ah, fearlessness!
As I go about my creative work today, I’m challenging myself to…
Jump in.
Fall flat.
Be brave.
Risk.
Explore.
Trust.
Do it differently.
Believe.
Enjoy foolishness.
Embrace play.
Wanna come with me? 🙂
Have a great day fellow creatives!

I’m happy to join in the fun. Let’s split up the list. You do the first 7 and I’ll do the last three… Just kidding. Great list. Those first seven items are not necessarily the easiest things to do but they do go a long way in defining and shaping us. Once we lose fear of failure and risk taking and change we become less restricted and more creative.
I envision it like the Incredible Hulk breaking out of a ‘way-too-small’ shirt that has “writer’s block” or “I can’t” or “that’s not original” or something like that on it.
Your word ‘restricted’ got me all worked up into a Bruce Banner frenzy.
I like the “do it differently” one the most. That challenges the core of the insanity in my life (doing the same things over and over, expecting a different result).
Remaining sane is fairly important.
Well, then again…a lot of amazing people were insane…so…
